Market Research Cold Calling Sales Agents

Blantyre Office

A cold calling sales agent is responsible for reaching out to potential customers who have not expressed prior interest in the product or service being offered. The primary objective of a cold calling sales agent is to generate leads, establish initial contact with prospects, and ultimately convert those prospects into customers.

As a Cold Calling Sales Agent, your key responsibilities will be:
• Conduct outbound calls to potential market research customers using a provided list or database.
• Introduce and promote market research products or services to prospects, focusing on its features, benefits, and unique selling points.
• Engage prospects in conversations to build rapport, gather information about their needs, and identify potential sales opportunities.
• Overcome objections or concerns raised by prospects and provide suitable solutions or explanations.
• Qualify leads by assessing their level of interest, budget, and purchasing authority.
• Follow a structured sales script or framework while adapting communication style to individual prospects.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all calls, interactions, and outcomes in a CRM (Customer Relationship Management) system.
• Schedule appointments or demonstrations with interested prospects for further engagement by the sales team.
• Collaborate with the sales team to ensure a smooth transition of qualified leads and provide relevant information or context.
• Meet or exceed assigned sales targets and quotas within specified timeframes.
• Stay informed about the product or service being offered, including updates, pricing, and competitive advantages.
• Continuously develop and enhance sales skills through training programs, workshops, and self-study.

Candidate requirements and skills:
• University degree
• Good verbal and written language skills for English – Equivalent C1 level (mandatory)
• Knowledge of another foreign language (German, French, Spanish or Italian) would be considered as an advantage
• Competent computer skills in particular with MS Office
• Excellent communication and time management skills, the ability to prioritize tasks
• Some knowledge of market research is essential but not required as full training will be provided.
• Proven experience in sales or telemarketing, preferably in a cold calling or outbound sales role.
• Excellent verbal communication and active listening skills.
• Ability to effectively articulate product or service features and benefits to potential customers.
• Strong persuasive and negotiation skills to influence prospects and close sales.
• Resilience and persistence to handle rejection or objections and maintain motivation.
• Results-oriented mindset with a track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
• Familiarity with CRM systems and basic computer skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Flexibility to adapt to changing sales strategies, target markets, or product/service offerings.
• High level of professionalism, integrity and ethical conduct.

Working Hours:
First shift 9.30AM – 6.00PM (Malawi Time)
Second shift 12:30pm – 9.00pm (Malawi Time)
