Malawi / Blantyre
A note taker is responsible for attending meetings, online focus groups, or conferences and taking detailed and accurate notes, report summarising from PowerPoint. They must have excellent listening and writing skills to capture essential information and ensure the documentation is organized and understandable. The note taker may work in various settings, including market research, corporate environments.
As a Market Research Note Taker, your responsibilities include:
• Attend virtual meetings, online focus groups, or virtual conferences as assigned and take thorough and concise notes.
• Actively listen and pay attention to verbal and nonverbal cues to capture important information, key points, and discussions, report summarising from PowerPoint.
• Record accurate and complete notes using preferred methods, such as typing on a laptop.
• Organize notes in a logical and structured manner, ensuring easy reference and retrieval of information.
• Highlight critical details, action items, decisions, and any follow-up requirements during the session.
• Review and proofread notes for clarity, correctness, and completeness, making necessary revisions or edits.
• Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately, adhering to any relevant privacy policies or regulations.
• Collaborate with other team members, if applicable, to cross-reference notes or clarify any uncertainties.
• Meet assigned deadlines for submitting finalized notes to relevant individuals or departments.
• Continuously improve note-taking skills, staying updated on effective techniques and tools.
• Communicate with supervisors or clients to clarify expectations, address questions, or provide progress reports, if necessary.
Candidate’s requirements and skills:
• University degree
• Good verbal and written language skills for English – Equivalent C1 level (mandatory)
• Knowledge of another foreign language (German, French, Spanish or Italian) would be considered as an advantage
• Competent computer skills in particular with MS Office
• Excellent communication and time management skills, the ability to prioritize tasks
• Some knowledge of market research is essential but not required as full training will be provided.
• Strong listening and comprehension skills to capture spoken information accurately.
• Excellent written communication skills with a focus on clarity, conciseness, and organization.
• Proficiency in note-taking methods and techniques, including shorthand, summarizing, or using digital tools.
• Detail-oriented and able to distinguish essential information from less important details.
• Strong time management and multitasking abilities to keep pace with the discussion and note-taking simultaneously.
• Proficiency in using computers, laptops, tablets, or other note-taking devices.
• Familiarity with relevant software tools or applications for efficient notetaking (e.g., Microsoft Word, Google Docs).
• Ability to work independently and maintain focus during lengthy meetings or sessions.
• Adaptability to different subject matters or industry-specific terminology.
• Professionalism, reliability, and a high level of discretion when handling confidential information.

• First Shift: 9.30AM – 6.00PM (Malawi Time)
• Second Shift: 12:30pm – 9.00pm (Malawi Time)
